Lago Vista Lake House

The Lake house at Lago Vista is located in central Texas. The concept is a simple building with cantilevered concrete slabs at the edge. The design creates a feeling of a delicate Japanese pavilion hovering above the rugged Texas landscape; a rectangular steel frame with glass enclosures facing a ravine and the sunset. A 14’ cantilevered roof overhang shades an over-sized porch space, creating a generous outdoor space for painting and relaxing. Photographed by Joseph Pettyjohn.
